Discovery in Mae Hong Son
Discovery Trip (Chiang Mai – Pai - Mae Hong Son 4 days 3 nights)
Day 1: Meet & Greet at Chiang Mai Airport welcome to Chiang Mai, the second largest city in Thailand, dubbed 'The Rose of the North' by the Thais for its beauty and the friendliness of the people, and has become the modern and cosmopolitan capital of the north. The friendliness of the people, the vibrant Night Bazaar, the interesting old town bounded by moats and the many glittering temples enthrall travelers from around the world.
After lunch, visit to Doi Suthep Temple, perched on top of the mountain which overlooking the city and also the most important landmark of Chiang Mai. The temple was built in 13 century, contains a golden pagoda that houses a part of the holy relics of the lord Buddha. After that transfer back to hotel for relax or enjoy shopping at the night bazaar.
Day 2: Travel to “Mae Sa Elephant Camp”. for the Thai elephant demonstration (demonstration time is 9.40 am), which will includes the parade, playing football, painting and how elephants are used in the logging trade in the past (elephant ride through the jungle and into the water is optional). Then, visit the elephant nursery in the same area. Noon, visit the beautiful orchid farm and get some idea how they are grow. Lunch will be served at the restaurant surrounded with the flower and orchid. Drive up hill to visit “Pong Deud Hot Spring” takes a bit walk to explore the nature or enjoy the hot spa and Drive to the view point at Huay Nam Dong National Park. After that, continue the trip to “Pai” the quite city and good place to stay overnight, relax at your leisure.
Day 3: After breakfast, continue the trip to Mae Hong Son Province, stop at “Lod Caves” to follow the tails of the pre-historic human who lived in the caves, the secrets of the caves will be shown by the slowly “bamboo raft” through the darkness with their remaining articles. Lunch will be served at the local restaurant (in the same area) and then visit Fish Caves where a number of fish live there. Arrive in “Mae Hong Son”, the city of three mists and visit Phu Klon Country Club (hot spa & mineral clay). Transfer to Mae Hong City to visit “Doi Kong Mu Temple”, a Burmese style temple, with a panoramic view of the city from the temple’s terrace. And visit another two temples that very famous in town (“Jong Khum” and “Jong Klang”) before Check in at the hotel
Day 4: Breakfast at the hotel restaurant and then leave the hotel in the early to survey the “local market”. Take a long tail boat trip along Pai river to visit “Karen Long Neck” people, the tribe that the women have to put the bronze ring on their necks, long neck women who start wearing heavy brass necklaces at very young age (a large number of rings around the neck signifies a woman of great beauty). This tribe is believed to have migrated from far North of Burma or Tibet and their weaving skills are renowned and produce beautiful and colorful garments.
Lunch will be served at the restaurant. After lunch say goodbye Mae Hong Son and transfer back to Mae Hong Son Airport the airport or transfer back to Chiang Mai is a complementary (approximately 6 hour drive back to Chiang Mai).
